Perhaps the colors won’t suck?

The house is painted. Lots of touch-up to do on the trim, and the gargage, front and security doors are left to be painted. Once that’s done, I’ll post a photo, hopefully a before and after. The neighbors like it, a random stranger passing by told my brother it was gorgeous, and my mother likes it. That’s good. If people like it, when I sell it then I won’t worry about it. I don’t. When I described it to Beth, she said something to the effect of, “So you have a swanky barn?” Yup. That about covers it.

In other news. Just returned from pub night. I forgot that Shay (of Clare Voyants fame) reads this ocassionally, and he asked me how the Peace Corps thing was going. I’m still sticking to applying by May 1st. I’m adamant about getting the hearing aids I need that will support me for years to come.

Hearing aids. Damned insurance. Took forever to verify where to go. Now that I have a place (one single company, apparently, though I need to verify this), I can’t seem to get in. The single audiologist who I went to many years ago I know bounces between their several offices. Twice now I’ve been rescheduled the day of my appointment because she’s sick. I’m disgusted both because they have only one audiologist apparently supporting three offices, and because in the modern year of 2006 one office cannot schedule appointments for the other office locations. So while I was supposed to get a test and order devices (Resound Metrix is my choice, in case anyone’s wondering) on February 15th, I will not try to do this on March 1st. I started this rigamarole the first week fo January, mind.

Scottish Highland Games and Clan Gathering are this weekend at MCC. Of course I shall be there Saturday, despite working late tomorrow night. And it will be late, for I am almost certain a rollback will be ordered. That will blow. But at least I’ll get to look forward to cool music from out of state, the mass pipe bands for the opening ceremony, tasty food and hopefully a coworker (full fledged member of SCA who runs their east valley website) will be there with his family.

And to the best girl I know, who lives not in this town but did a long time ago:

…If I had money enough to spend
And leisure time to set awhile…
…There is a fair maid in this town
Who surely has my heart beguiled….
Her rosy cheeks and ruby lips…
…She alone has my heart in thrall.
So fill to me the parting glass…
…Good night and joy be with you all.

that audiologist may want to get a good herbalist, therapist, masseuse and/or whatever is necessary to keep her well!
